St Mary’s Unwrapped
There are so many exciting announcements to share with our readers this week!
Reawakening St Mary Magdalene
After a year of repair, renewal and change, we are so excited to be opening our doors for worship once again. On Sunday, 21st December we will gather for our first services back in our beloved church. Everyone is welcome to help us mark this important event in the long life and history of our church.
The building won’t be open outside of service times just yet as we finalise the works. We will let you know an opening date very soon in the new year.
As cleaning works continue, the pews are uncovered for the first time in more than 12 months.

The Robert Kiddey Trail
Did you know that St Mary Magdalene is home to three works by important local artist Robert Kiddey, a Pieta, a Crucifixion and a Cross of Nails. With cleaning works underway, these artworks are now being unwrapped and revealed again. You will be able to visit these works as part of Newark’s newly opened Kiddey Art Trail when the Church reopens again for general visits in the new year.

St Mary’s Unwrapped
Most of the church’s precious fabric, furnishings and art have spent the past year under protective covers to conserve fragile and valuable items. We are now able to unwrap the church just in time for Christmas. What a fantastic Christmas present!
