No matter what the style, the emphasis is on glorifying God, and encounter with Him.
We pride ourselves on our provision for children and young people, and on offering a friendly welcome to anyone who arrives at our doors.

Types of Worship

At St Leonard’s, we have either a Holy Communion Service, or a Service of the Word, each Sunday. The atmosphere is informal and welcoming, and there are always tea, coffee and biscuits after the service.
St Leonard’s

This service happens once per month, usually on the second Sunday. It is a quiet and reflective service of Holy Communion, conducted without music.

A beautiful formal service of Holy Communion, with a choir, hymns and an organ. The people leading the service wear robes, and we follow a liturgy found in the service books. There is a children’s activity and discussion group during the sermon most Sundays.

This service is very laid-back, with sung worship led by a band, and plenty of time for hearing from the Bible and responding. We often spend time waiting on God together, knowing that He speaks into our lives.
Children usually start off with the adults, and then go out to their own group, where they play games, do crafts, worship, pray and hear Bible stories.

This is our most traditional service at St Mary’s. It is quiet and reflective, but you’ll hear the choir singing a good deal of this service. We follow a written liturgy, composed in the 1600’s.
